Why live in Orléans…Why not…It is a great Suburb to the East of Ottawa with culture, recreation, hiking trails, shopping, restaurants and more. While it is rich in many different cultures it is known for it’s strong francophone presence.
There are old as well as new neighbourhoods and communities in the area, with Avalon a fairly new community and the Bradley Estates area is still being developed by several builders, if you want to buy a new home you will be spoilt for choice here.
Place D’Orléans is the largest shopping mall with 175 stores and counting but we have Innes Road box stores, and shops on St Joseph and Centrum where you find a Farmers Market in the summer months on the weekend.
Orléans has many hiking trails for the nature enthusiast. Trails run along the Ottawa River banks and run from Convent Glen through Chatelaine Village to Petrie’s Island.
Princess Louise Trail runs through to Taylor Creek which is where the Waterfall is that you see on St. Joseph and Tenth line, also known as Fallingbrook.
There are many Facilities throughout the Orléans area, including the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex, that features The Elizabeth Manley rink, Ray Friel Recreation Complex, Francois Dupris Recreation Complex, the Millenium Sports Park and the YMWCA.
Orléans has a very easy commute to Ottawa using the 174 and Innes Road bypass.
